First, prepare two containers, one for seedlings which should be about 4-5” width and another one with the preferred size as the main container, 5-7 gallon is the most commonly used for indoor cultivation.
As the main container should have both cover crops and earthworms ready when it’s time to transplant the seedlings, therefore it’s a good idea to prepare them at the same time as you start seedling.
It’s better to let cover crops grow for at least a week before putting in live earthworms as the cover crop will help shade the light penetration for earthworms in the soil. We also recommend leaving about 1-2 inches of space from the container rim in order to have space for cover crops to grow and comfortable watering and top feeding.
